Jim Maples Academy’s 50/50 Dual Approach

Our 50/50 dual language program offers a transformative approach to education at JMAl, fostering bilingualism and biliteracy from an early age. At Jim Maples Academy, we incorporate the "Leader in Me" program to empower students with essential leadership skills and cultivate a proactive, self-motivated learning environment. Based on Stephen Covey’s "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People," the program equips students with practical tools for personal and academic success. By teaching habits such as "Be Proactive" and "Begin with the End in Mind," we encourage students to take ownership of their learning, set goals, and develop strong problem-solving abilities. This approach not only enhances their academic performance but also prepares them to become effective leaders and responsible citizens in their communities.

Furthermore, the "Leader in Me" program fosters a positive school culture by promoting collaboration, respect, and a growth mindset among students and staff alike. Through regular lessons, role-modeling, and school-wide initiatives, students learn to value teamwork, communicate effectively, and handle challenges with resilience.
